Phoenix Chinese Week 2017






Phoenix Sister Cities invites you to take part in the 2017 Annual Chinese week. From January 29 to February 8, the City of Phoenix and the Sister City Commmittees of Taipei and Chengdu will celebrate cultural, social and educational events. The festival includes a three-day Cultural and Cuisine Festival (Feb.10-12) featuring a Children's Pavilion and concluding with a Chinese New Year Banquet on Saturday, February 18.

Lights of the World Festival

Lights of the World 2016 will be launching November 18, 2016 and take place at Rawhide Western Town at Wild Horse Pass until January 28, 2017. Lights of the World, is a unique international lantern arts festival that combines the age-old Chinese tradition of lantern festivals with modern cutting-edge technology and lights.

This Festival offers exciting fundraising opportunities for the Phoenix Sister Cities Committees. One dollar of every ticket sold through the coupon codes below will be donated to the corresponding committee. Chengdu Committee member Elena Zee recently was awarded the prestigious ATHENA Businesswoman of the Year Award for her work in the Public Sector. "The ATHENA Award honors women who have consistently invested in themselves, their profession, their community, and especially other women. They have achieved the pinnacle of success within their industry, have mentored women throughout their career, and have dedicated themselves to the community through various activities and charities."


Elena Zee has led a fascinating life, including her family shipping her out of China during the Cultural Revolution to pursue a better life in the US. Elena Zee graduated from Wellesley and Columbia universities and has dedicated her professional life towards improving economic and personal financial literacy through the Arizona Council on Economic Education. Passionate about cultural awareness, Zee also serves on the board of Arizona’s Chinese Chamber of Commerce, which works to promote beneficial relationships between businesses and city government.


Phoenix Sister Cities would like to congratulate it Elena Zee for her award and thank her for all of her hard work!

"Honor and Duty" Free Screening

The Chinese American Citizens Alliance Phoenix Lodge is proud to host the screenings of
"Honor and Duty: The Mississippi Delta Chinese", a story about the immigrants from China who settled in the Mississippi Delta and evolved over the decades playing a prominent role in World War Two and the transformation of the deep South. The film's Executive Producer, E. Samantha Cheng, will be here to hold a Q & A after the screenings.There will be two free screenings shown on in Phoenix:
