Orla Keane is Ireland’s first Consul General to Los Angeles.  Prior to taking up her assignment in LA in August 2019, Ms. Keane was part of the small team working on Brexit in the European Union Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland.  As a career diplomat, she has previously served at the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU in Brussels, including as Head of Institutional Affairs.  Prior to her Brussels assignment, Ms. Keane was the Deputy Director of the Department’s Human Rights Unit from 2007-2011.
