Mayor’s International 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Mayor’s International Gala on October 16. Together, we celebrated the people and partnerships that connect Phoenix to communities around the world.

At the heart of this year’s celebration was the 50th anniversary of Phoenix’s sister city relationship with Hermosillo, Mexico. Mayor Kate Gallego and Hermosillo Mayor Antonio Astiazarán reaffirmed the partnership between our cities, honoring five decades of friendship and the opportunities ahead.

We were also proud to recognize three outstanding honorees for their leadership and contributions to our community:

• Dr. John Shufeldt — Global Citizen Award
• Mayo Clinic — Global Leadership Award
• Flinn Foundation — Global Philanthropy Award

Our sincere thanks to event co-chairs Oscar De las Salas and Gary Jackson, our generous sponsors and donors, dedicated volunteers, staff, and everyone who helped make the evening possible.

Your support helps Phoenix Sister Cities strengthen international partnerships, expand educational and cultural exchanges, and create opportunities that connect our communities.

Thank you for being part of our global community. We look forward to building on these friendships together.
